2017-2018
Time flies when you workin' your ass off. Since the last update Sara Storer's album "Silos" won the ARIA award for Best Country Album and Fanny Lumsden's album "Real Class Act" won Best Country Album at the AIR Awards. These last couple of years have seen a whole bunch of records come out such as Shane Nicholson's "Love and Blood", John Williamson's "Butcherbird", Brad Butcher's "From The Bottom Of A Well", The Wolfe Brothers "Country Heart", Graeme Connors "From The Back Country", Judah Kelly's "Count On Me" and a whole stack of others by artists such as Ami Williamson, Mike McLellan, Amber Lawrence, Travis Collins, Andrew Swift, The Pigs, Matt Ward, Libby Donovan, Nancie Schipper, Brad Cox, Paul Costa, Michelle Plozza and more.
2015-2016
Been an incredible last 12 months or so in studio and gig land. Shane Nicholson's album, "Hell Breaks Loose" received critical acclaim across the board, winning the ARIA award for Best Country Album (my first ARIA) and Best Alternative Country Album at the Golden Guitar Awards. Sara Storer's stunning new album "Silos" (my 3rd album for Sara) was recently released, Fanny Lumsden's amazing debut album, "Small Town Big Shot" turned heads all round the country, the X-Factor sensations, Brothers 3 shot into the top 10 on the ARIA charts with their debut album, "Brothers Never Part" and Dana Hassall's debut album "Spinning Wheels" received rave reviews. Amongst all that there's been a myriad of singles and EP's for artists across a whole range of genres.
Outside the studio over the last few months I've had the pleasure of touring the country yet again as guitarist/keyboardist for Josh Pyke and bassist for Suze DeMarchi in the big rooms. Fanny Lumsden was kind enough to ask me to be part of her travelling "Thrillseekers" on her Country Halls Tour and last but certainly not least my wife and I have been making our mark on the music scene as "Amber Rae Slade and The Mighty Big Noise" (album coming real soon)

2015 SO FAR
Hard to believe we're almost half way through 2015. The last 6 months or so have been a hive of activity here at Love Hz Studios. A particular highlight has been producing Shane Nicholson's new album for Lost Highway Records. We had an absolute blast making this album and I can't wait for y'all to hear it. I've also produced records lately for Fanny Lumsden & The Thrillseekers, Matt Cornell, Dana Hassall, comedy duo Sparrow Folk, EP's for Amber Rae Slade & The Mighty Big Noise, Jonathan Holmes, Emily Markham, Michelle Plozza, album sessions for Suze DeMarchi plus a host of others. As usual it's been a great mix of styles and artists. Looking forward to whatever comes next

2014

What a year it's been already. Just writing this I have the overwhelming urge to take a nap!
A particular highlight has been producing the new album from Australian Icon, John Williamson. John and I had an absolute ball making his album and I was sad to let it go.
I also had an incredible experience producing the new album from Amber Lawrence. Apart from working with her and her great songs I had the pleasure of putting down the band tracks at the esteemed House of Blues Studio in Nashville. It was my 3rd trip to Nashville for work and I'm very much looking forward to doing it again soon!

In between these two projects I've produced albums for Mike McLellan, Gemma Kirby and Doug McIntyre. EP's for Gretta Ziller, Marcello de la Vega, Sophia Walters and tracks for Tara Favell, Sally Street, Emelia J, Justin Standley, Sparrow Folk and plenty others..

SARA STORER and MATT FELL GOLDEN AT THE 2014 CMAA AWARDS

Was another big night for Sara and I at the 2014 CMAA Awards where they picked up the Album of the Year Golden Guitar for Sara's stunning album, Lovegrass. (My 2nd after winning the same award with Graeme Connors in 2011)
Sara also took out the coveted Female Artist of the Year and Vocal Collaboration of the Year awards.
Ashleigh Dallas (whose debut album I produced with Kasey Chambers) also won New Talent of the Year

Matt nominated for 2012 ARIA award for Engineer of the Year

I've recently been nominated for my engineering work on Tim Freedman's (The Whitlams) "Australian Idle". The other 4 nominees are the engineers for Gotye, Josh Pyke, The Jezebels and 360 and I'm incredibly chuffed to be in their company. "Australian Idle" which I also produced and mixed has received rave reviews and this nomination is the icing on the cake!
Matt awarded Producer of the Year at the 2012 CMAA Awards

On January 28 I was awarded the coveted Producer of the Year Award at the CMAA Awards (AKA The Golden Guitars) in Tamworth. The award was given in recognition of my 2011 productions on albums by Graeme Connors, McAlister Kemp, Tracey Killeen and Sara Storer.
Was a great start to the year after an incredibly hectic and rewarding previous year which saw the recording and release of many projects namely albums by Tim Freedman, Graeme Connors, Morgan Evans, Harry Hookey, Phil Davidson, Sam Hawksley, Kirsty Aikers, Sista Burly plus loads more. Some of the albums I did in 2011 will be released shortly such as Blanche Dubois, McAlister Kemp and The Harmonators.
Here's to plenty more noise and racket in 2012!
